The Royal Brackla was established in 1812 is a distillery boasts a rich history.
Captain Fraser, its founder, secured the first-ever royal warrant for Scotch whisky in 1833, granting the distillery its prestigious name.
Throughout the 19th century, ownership changed hands, culminating in a complete rebuild in 1898.
The 20th century brought expansion and a brief production pause in the 1980s, before its revival in 1991.
This single cask was distilled on 23rd December 2008 and filled into a refill barrel then bottled on 10th January 2024 giving us just 232 bottles at a natural cask strength of 54.9%abv.
Tasting notes from Lady of the Glen - panna cotta, citrus peel and chocolate honeycomb, apricot, roasted chestnuts, mature oak, walnut oil, blackcurrant compote and boiled orange sweets.
