Special Release - Distillery of the year
Honouring their success at the Scottish Whisky Awards last year when they were crowned Scottish Whisky Distillery of the Year, the team at Raasay Single Malt have released this limited edition, ‘Distillery of the Year’ release.
Distilled in August 2018, bottled in August 2023, this whisky is the oldest liquid that has been released to date.
This whisky is unpeated spirit matured in ex Four Roses bourbon casks before a second maturation in Quercus Humboldtii Columbian oak and offers delicious notes of vanilla and butterscotch with a long finish of crème brûlée.
Like every bottle released by Raasay the offering is natural colour and non-chill filtered, for this release they have specifically chose 50.7%abv.
The Distillery of the Year release is a product of 2 maturations, the first maturation cask type was Ex Bourbon and Tennessee Four Roses US Kentucky American Oak ASB (190 Litres capacity) and the second maturation cask type was Virgin Oak Colombian Oak ASB (200 Litres capacity)
The Isle of Raasay unpeated spirit was made from concerto barley and wis distilled in August 2018 the bottle in August 2023, there are only 9500 is this release.
