Muara is an ancient Celtic name meaning ‘Star of the Sea’
Maura Gin celebrates Scotland’s women, who helped shape its history, legends and stories of the sea.
On the label there is also a nod St. Maura, a devotee of St. Columba, who settled on Great Cumbrae in the 7th Century and helped spread Christianity to the West of Scotland.
The label artist Hope Blamire, is a celebrated Scottish painter and her artwork is featured in galleries and shops across the UK, and in homes throughout the world.
The botanicals feature delicate wildflowers and berries of Scotland’s West Coast including raspberry, blaeberry, red clover and elderflower.
