This 22 year old single grain has been finished in a 1st fill Rivesaltes Ambré cask for 4 months.

The Port Dundas distillery that has been closed since 2011 when it was demolished as part of Diageo’s decision to focus on grain production elsewhere.

A 22 year old is a rare whisky to experiment with, this bottling really does showcases what could have been from one of Scotland’s lost distilleries.

Bottled as part of their Permutations Series 1, original cask type was a hogshead before being finished in a 1st Fill Rivesaltes Ambré

Filled on 10th October 2000 the finished between the 11th of August 2022 and the 16th of December 2022

Bottled at a cask strength of 53.8%, natural colour and non chill filtered (Naturally Slightly Hazy) with only 119 bottles available.

Tasting notes from the guys at Fib Whisky

This dessert dram remains sweet, gaining from the cask a beautiful front palate of sweet lime creams (more the boiled sweet than the chocolate, but 2 things can be true).

Some orange oils follow, with the refrain of sweet white sugars following throughout with rich caramelised fruits also characterise the centre palate.

The finish is medium length, characterised by that sweet lime and a slight subtle spice.
